~Our Story~
The Pelton's Story
The Pelton's story began as a multi-generational farm family. Looking to expand their business from farming, Luke and Cody’s father, Mark, created a subdivision on some of their land north of the farm. For about 10 years, they built a spec home each year. Luke and Cody would each take their turn joining the crew every day after school up until they graduated. It was shortly after graduation that Luke purchased his first “fixer upper” house which would later become his first rental property. From that property, it quickly tuned to a duplex and then a four-plex.
In 2005, the Pelton’s took their first step towards larger scale development in creating Stonefield Place. Their first multi-family housing development would consist of six 16-unit buildings. Following Stonefield Place, they have gone on to create more housing multi-family housing complexes in Baraboo, Rock Springs, Reedsburg, Dodgeville and Prairie du Chien with these apartment buildings ranging in size from twelve to 51 units.
Most recently, Luke and Cody have been working on their largest development to date in Baraboo – Greenfield Reserve. This development, when completed, will consist of eight 16-unit apartment buildings, three 12-unit apartment buildings, eight duplexes, 75 single-family homes, a conservancy with walking trails and a city park. Greenfield Reserve shows their ability to develop land in a way that tastefully mixes multi-family housing and single-family homes.
While there’s risk associated with any business venture, the Pelton’s business-savvy approach drives their success. They leverage community and business partners to identify needs and niches to invest in that community’s growth. They have created working relationships with local subcontractors who align with their philosophy of working hard to create a well-crafted product. With Luke’s vision and ability to create projects and Cody’s hands-on leadership on job sites, they create a dynamic partnership that is able to see each project from inception to completion.
